Tiguan final drive (transfer case) failure

Probably some of you know I had rear wheel drive not engaging problem of my Tig and I thought it was a haldex failure. But after troubleshooting a lot we (me and a mate) found out that rear drive shaft not deliver power to rear diff & haldex. We actually overlook this problem before thinking about haldex but after car on the hoist second time we notice rear drive prop shaft just jerking trying to rotate but not rotate with a torque. Also it can be rotate by hand when car wheels on the ground not moving. Anyone with any information with this problem please report here..


Rear drive shaft coming out tomorrow and see if it is just the flange. ( No 10 in the image)

Nvmind, I worked that bit out. Will be interested to see how you go with your warranty.

We have good low mileage used components of 2010 - 2103 Tuguan drivetrain components on the shelf if you need any (Including Bevel drive box off the DQ 500 and complete Haldex rear ends).

It's good to know that you're ready for the future and good to see the Tiguan still being there 100 years from now. :)

Miro, they are good to have when you find the limits of the Golf R drivetrain as well :)

Might be worth taking it to a tech with VW & Haldex experience rather than replace bits.

Update: Transfer case has defiantly gone bad. Took it out from the car after I got a new one from HP. One gear wheel is completely disconnected from its drive shaft(rotate freely) and shaft itself is seized with the bearing. Look like bearing failed and caused all the problems. Oil inside the box was like paste of grounded metal dust and oil mix. very bad :(

Looks like part sent by HP got different tooth profile to the original part. Need to sort this out with them now.

How many k's were in the borked one?
