Possible Pre Cat O2 sensor issue.

Just putting it out there to see if anyone else has had an 02 sensor fail or start to fail on their mk6.
I've had these little annoying symptoms of little misfires at low rpm's and when the car is idling when cold. Once I rev the car pass 1700rpm you can feel the car smooth out but down at around 1400rpm I get little pops and splutters from the exhaust.

I've got fairly new plugs and brand new R8 red coils in, fuel filter is only 25000klm old.

To make things more annoying I have no fault codes but I am only using a hand held Maxscan device.

Car still pulls well but only when I get out of the 1000rpm to 2000rpm range give or take a few rpm.

Can these sensors still begin to fail without no codes being created?

sounds like you may have a carbon build up issue

Thanks, it is a possibility, I did do the suburu upper engine clean about 10000klm ago so might be time to do it again. Think this time though I'll run water through first and after. I will have to get the O2 and MAF tested though just for piece of mind.
