Best battery?
So my H&R cup kit is installed, looks good, dying to take the vr6 for a run, but the battery is nackered. I've recharged it 3 times, starts the car for the day, then dead. So, looking at a new battery. Is it worth going for the optima red top, or maybe a supercharge? The one in there currently is a repco, which is covered in crap that's leaked. Boring subject I'm sure, but I want to buy right and not have to think about boring crap like batteries. No amps/sub ect, I just want to start her up real good. Thanks all.

I have had good service and no problems from a supercharge gold in my mk3. Reasonable price and it has an indicator on the top that shows the battery condition.

Nice, you how much they go for roughly? No price on their site...

I got quoted $169 for a supercharge from auto one, although at the time they had 20% off. I believe they also come with a 3 year guarantee.

That's not too bad, $100 cheaper than a red top. Hopefully I won't be kicking myself for not shelling out the extra cash in the 1st place!

I've had a Century in mine for years that hasn't missed a beat. It's gone flat a few times because I left the car in storage for months on end but now that I've been driving it again lately, it still goes strong.

Thanks for the replies. I ended up forking out the extra and getting the optima. I don't think I've ever heard the engine crank over so strongly! Again, not an overly exciting thing to have to buy or talk about, but I'm starting to take a no compromise stance on the VR, only the best for my baby! Ha.

Overkill for sure, but at least you'll be able to run your stereo forever.

Always had optima batteries, will never go back!
