my drivers door sometimes doesn't trigger the door switch when i open it.
which means the int lights dont turn on and that noise u hear when u open drivers door doesnt happen also.
its that bad?
is it an easy fix...

Have you had a look at the actuator for the switch? Does it all look to be intact?
The doorlocks in the mkIV cars are electromagnetic.
Sounds like your module has some problems. To fix this, it involves stripping the door, removing the door module and investigating the switches/solder on the module. There is a guide to do this on the vortex forums.
Good luck, I had mine fixed underwarranty. I have a spare module from mine but I still have to fix it !
To get a second hand one installed about 300 to 400 $.
While you are there do the window regulator :)

I think it is the fuel pump being prepped. BTW what wheels do you have ?

not sure. My guess is by turning the key in the ignition, it preps everything anyway.
