key improvements on the Mk6 GTI compared to Mk5?

HI all

Am considering the purchase of a 5-door Mk6 GTI. Previously owned a 3-door 2008 GTI and enjoyed many aspects, but not all. In fact, sometimes I think I miss the thought of owning it, but not the actual experience!

Most weekends I was trying to sort out:
1. rattles, trim buzzes
2. wind noise (especially from the top edge of windscreen)
3. mouldy aircon smell
4. DSG had the control unit replaced

But I loved the leather seats, the performance, and the 'feel' of being in the cockpit.

Anyway. there must have been a lot of folks who've upgraded from a Mk5 to a Mk6, so could you let me know if many of the above issues have been sorted in your experience?
Any disadvantages of the Mk6?

Appearancewise I still think the Mk5 GTI stands out better from other Golfs, as well as from other cars. Love the deep black honeycomb grille!

Hi mate, you can find the answers to those questions if you do a search. They have been talked about heaps in the mk6 sections.

Sadly,it seems like the rattles and interior buzzes aew still there in a lot of cars...GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

I agree with Brendan_A, we don't need yet another MKV vs MK6 thread.
