Price Prediction.

Hey guys. I try'd to find an online price depreciater but had no luck, well i had some but it didnt really do much for me and im not going to get those valuable seconds of my life back:duh:

Anyway. Im trying to work out what price the average price range i would be looking at for an R32 golf when i get off my p plates in 2011. Anyone got an educated estimate?

Simply love the car and would love to go from a good golf to an outrageous golf so if i could enact some kind of plan now that'd be good me thinks.

Well, either that or let my tough little VR6 engine die on me first, and then get one :D

+2 on price estimates...I'm keen to know! (My assumption, although highly uneducated, would be 25ish k)

Just on car point atm theres a fair few between 20 and 30k. Alot are around 25. So maybe your price mickey is more what you would pay atm not in a few years time.

Maybe things are lookin up for us hey:biggrin:

well, consider that in 2011, an R32 will be 7 years old, I reckon the prices would be between 17 and 25k for a minter with some mods, or 14-15k at auction with no service history lol...

I think what you're going to find though is that they are going to become rarer as they fall into the hands of those who are more interested in holding onto them as collectors items. Don't forget there are less than 200 of these in the country and most people getting rid of them now will be those who had them as lease cars.
I foresee a day when the price of a MkIV R32 will be more than that of a MkV R32. Note it in your diaries people. :)

The V R32 is a superior car, although imo doesn't look as good, its already dated better when compared to the V. R32's have never really sold like hotcakes in either variant. I doubt that despite the fact that there are even 200 working Vr6's in the country, doesn't mean they hold their value especially well either...

Only time will tell. :)

There's close to fanatical optimism when it comes to MKIV R32 pricing.

Being discontinued doesn't make a mass produced item turn into an appreciating Picasso.
It usually means it has been superseded by a similar mass produced item, or the market has moved on to something more relevant.

Sure there'll always be a premium on the R32 as a model, but the free market will keep it under MKV R32 pricing, no matter how much you personally love it or wish the price would go up as a collectors item.

Being discontinued isn't a way to increase the value of a product... just ask any MKV owner ;)

Very few mass produced cars increase in value... those that do usually have a huge fan base, and an R32 is much more obscure than something like a 22B STI (which are still chasing 90k).

Nostalgia is a drug. Use it sparingly.

I should note that I drive a MKV, and genuinely like the MKIV R32.
I'm just not high on the fumes from the badass twin pipe.
