Need to replace my radiator fans on my R36 , not sure the best way to remove it, as space looks restricted don't want to remove stuff if not needed for access.
Any suggestions ?

If it's anything like what it was on the VW Up! I did a while back; you need to pull the bumper, AC condenser, then pull the whole radiator assembly out to get to the fans.
I will check the service manual this evening and let you know.
You are in luck; it's not a bumper-off job
Remove the airbox intake duct
Remove the four screws on the fan support tray.
Unclip the coolant hose from the support.
Disconnect the power connector
Remove the fan tray via the bottom (you will need some room to get that out, I hope you have access to a lift)
Fan screws 10Nm and 5Nm for the tray screws.
Also to ask
what fan is this, the small or the big one?
006481 - Radiator Fan 2 (V177)
P1951 - 002 - Movement Restricted / Jammed - Intermittent

If you run an output test in VCDS, you should be able to test each fan.
I would also check to see if the fans spin freely (With the battery disconnected!) the error only shows to be triggered once.
Both Fans spin freely by hand, i don't feel any resistance, did output test both spin up at full speed.
Think low speed is gone, as i hear fan come on alot at full speed.
