2011 vw mk 6 golf comfortline both front and rear 12v sockets failing?

HI ALL,

2011 VW 2.0L TDI COMFORTLINE HATCH AUTO

i've had the F16 fuse issue. melted fuse( caused both low beam globes to fail )
replaced that fuse ok.
headlight H7 globes replaces.

now my 12V front cig lighter socket and rear socket dont work.

cabin fusebox has the fuse for these 2 yes? F41 20A?

can anyone confirm this?

as per the ERWIN wiring diagrams etc i have.


also, receiving no power at front 12v socket. removed and unplugged,still no power.

no other blow fuses in cabin fusebox or engine bay fusebox.

this is annoying.

help.

Is the car original electrical wise? Or has it been modified (light bars, fog lights, upgraded stereo, alarm etc etc) in some way. If its modified in any way then i would start with checking over the wiring for any of these items.

If it is standard, then i would check over all of your connections in the fuse box in the engine bay (just near the battery - see video below) as all the connections are bolted to a terminal (easy to check and tighten if necessary - also easy to see if something has been fitted aftermarket). Make sure none of the wiring here is obviously damaged/burnt/rubbed through and possibly causing your issue.

If the car lives outside at night (or on a farm etc) then its possible that rodents have eaten some of your wiring (it happens) and this may be causing your faults too.

I've had 2x Mk6 Golfs over a period of about 6 years and never had this issue that you are having.
