Ringing/rattling noise

Hi Guys,

As the title suggest, my car has developed some sort of ringing/rattling noise, sounds like it's coming from the exhaust component but I could be wrong.

It becomes audible once the engine has sufficiently warmed up and only happen at throttle lift-off, loudest at 2k RPM. I can even hear the ringing noise whilst driving slowly around the neighbourhood. It can also be replicated during idle as per video below.

Anyone has heard something similar? I'm hoping it's just the exhaust component not something else further up the stream.

PS: I've crawled underneath the car, checked the piping and heat shield, everything seems solid.

It may a fuel line rattle or air con hose related - there are TSB out on this. The fix is to reroute hoses and for the fuel line they replaced some of the fuel line including fuel filter. The vibrations can be caused in some funny places like my interior car door was rattling.

The fuel line runs from rear to front of the car under the driver side. I was told that variance in fuel pressure or fuel leak caused it. I had annoying rattle always at about 2000rpm and it disappeared after they did these two fixes.

While the rattle sound is different to mine it might be caused by same issue. I wonder if it might also be wastegate rattle altho I think it was fixed by that stage your car was built and happened under different conditions and toms.

If I'm not wrong I've experienced those fuel line rattle, sounded more like a vibrating body panel around the driver side, dealer fixed this during the early days.

The current noise sounded more like something is vibrating against a hollow pipe and is audible from the outside unlike the fuel line rattle. Wastegate rattle is a possibility as the noise would be transmitted through the downpipe and then the exhaust pipe.

I might do a little more investigation, I wish I have my own hoist to look underneath the car more throughly :)

The wastegate rattle was the previous models petrol engine, I haven't heard boo about the new RS having the same issue. Good to know the other rattles were solved by Skoda, I was meaning to ask about them with my new one coming. I can't stand rattles and creaks.

Other than the earlier rattle noise and current ringing noise, the car has been solid. You'll be happy with it :)
