Stoopid gearbox

Hi Waterpumpers,

My 7G12082 gearbox has decided it doesn't want to live in my car anymore!! Feels like the diff rivets. I'm currently looking for another box see listing in WTB.

I thought I would ask if anyone has gone down the rebuild road? Ballpark dollars, time lines and location?

How do you know it's the rivets? Has it stopped working completely? Or does it just not apply power quickly enough?

I haven't rebuilt one nor do I know anyone personally that'd i'd pay to do it.. If one of my 3 died I'd rebuilt it from another one, which is what i think you should do.
