    VW Tiguan DQ500 DSG service

I`m preparing to do DSG service. My Haynes manual says 5.5 litre transmission initial fill , then check and adjust if needed.
If I do the mechtronics as well ,it will drain 1.2 litres. That is close to initial fill quantity of 6.9 - 7.1 litres.
The manual states after draining both sections to start refill with 5.5 litres. This doesn`t add up considering the 1.2 litre mechtronics . Can anyone clear this up?

Won't be as much as dry fill, but expect if you use both drains that you'll need closer to 6 than 5.5.

Not all of them have a Mechatronics drain plug.

I've serviced hundreds of them. You'd be lucky to get 5L back in. Most will take a bit over 4.5L

Mine is DQ500 with a mechtronics drain plug. I`m mostly cautious about start up without minimum amount of oil in the trans`.
I`ll be doing a tally on the drain volume as a check and guide.
VW procedure states 5.5 lt refill then let excess drain to level tube. My thoughts are, is this amount required after gearbox drain or G/box and mechtronics drain.
