    VW Jetta. Now with attitude.

    Hello Everyone,

I have a Salsa Red Volkswagen Jetta MY 2008.

It's a comfortable and reliable car. The only things it lacks are power and attitude.

My mate has a black Jetta and suggested I get one. He looked everywhere for wheels for his VW Jetta and found nothing.

I considered the Classics Jetta 18 inch wheels you can get from Volkswagen. I think they come on the TSI. Then I thought I didn't want the car to look like a TSI-wannabee.

Instead I chose Yokohama ADVAN RS-D wheels 18 x 8.0 in Matt Black. I first saw a set on VW Mk5 Golf GTI at a Circuit Club track day at Wakefield Park. It had Machine Black ADVAN RSD wheels with ADVAN Neova tyres. I sort of copied it but with the Matt Black rims. What do you think?

    Today I added some attitude.

Here's my car at 8:00 am this morning. Mild mannered.

Here's my car at 4:00 this afternoon. Attitude. I just need an "I shoot and I vote sticker"!

What else can I do to it aesthetically? Some TSI 15mm lower springs and a duck tail spoiler would be good?

    Christian.

if you want it to look tough i reckon ull need a 35 - 50mm drop!
And yep a nice subtle rear spoiler finishes the Jetta off nicely

Man those wheels look freaking awesome.
Completely transform the look of the car.

Get a subtle spoiler on that and drop it down and it will be a good looking machine.

    Nice wheels.

The problem with the wheels is they accentuate the wheel arch gap.

If you drop it and tint the windows, you will be on your way...

The rear bumper looks strange as there are no plastic skirts, maybe a little colour coding would make it look more finished.

I agree with everything said above.
    Especially the textured bumpers.

Sorry,I cannot say that I am a fan of the new alloys...
They look like the car has missing hubcaps.
MUCH MUCH MUCH ptefer the standars Atlanta VW alloys,as they when clean make the elegsant aJetta look so classy...

I like the wheels - they look great, but as already commented it does accentuate the ride height. Needs a drop. Well done...
