I'm looking at a larger family friendly cars, but something that can still be tossed into corners and doesn't feel like a boat. I came across a used skoda 206tsi sportline which looks really interesting. I prefer to hear the turbo spooling though (not the BOV), is there some way to get the noise back?

How are parts costs and availability for Skoda's in Australia compare to say Japanese brands? The insurance is significantly higher.

I'm not overly familiar with Skoda, I see resale value doesn't really hold, but is that more because of brand recognition or do Skoda's not age well and rack up big bills for replacement parts?

Given this seems to use VW parts, have the issues with the DSG's been sort out now?

When looking at a second hand model, are there any issues to look out for?

There are no Skoda dealers anywhere near me, and it seems poor quality, over priced servicing seems to be universal across brand dealerships lol. Any solid independant VW mechanics in south west of Sydney?
