    Cool New Golf VI 118TSI

Well it seems like every time I buy a new car I have the urge to seek out an online community and knowledge resource for the particular vehicle in question. I have just taken possession of a new Golf VI 118TSI 7 Sp DSG to replace our aging Astra SXI as a daily driver.

The 1.4 TSI is certainly a great little package although I wish that between now and the day I die I get to purchase a new vehicle which does not have anything wrong with it. Alas, despite half an hour of careful inspection before handing over the final payment there was a disappointing list of issues which did noy fully surface until about rwo weeks of ownership had passed...

...but , that is how it always is and I shouldn't have expected anything different just because it is a VW. Anyway, between the issues that I have fixed myself and the few I have already registered as warranty claims, I guess I will get there (but one should not have to... that is the point).

I am a real DYI (read anal fussy person) when it comes to cars and once it leaves the dealer it is never likely to see a dealer workshop ever again unless I have no choice. I have always performed all services and modifications to all the cars I have owned and usually find these online communities a wealth of information when getting to know the new drive.

Actually the new drive is a pretty impressive little package for what it is. So much so that my other toy hasn't been driven much in the last couple of weeks (will have to take it out this Sunday and blow out all the cob-webs).

I notice that the only way I can insert images on this forum is via a link to an online image hosted by a 3rd party. Unfortunately I have ditched my own web space for now (couldn't be bothered anymore) otherwise I would post up a few photos.

Anyway, hello to all and I am sure I will be asking (probing) for some more specific info as time goes by.

    Welcome and nice purchase.

I like the colour, would really suit some darker coloured wheels.

    Any plans for her?

Nah... it is just the daily driver (work horse). The real car is the other one. I don't think the little lady will be too happy if I spend any more on this car... it is nearly fully optioned (including satnav, park assist, sports pack, bluetooth, toebar, etc). I hate dark wheels anyway.
