Looking at a 2011 mk 6 golf gti with 150,000 kms wondering if there are anything major problems with that many kms ?? Thanks everyone

Hi and welcome.

A full service history is obviously important. And with a 2011 GTI you will want to be checking for timing chain issues (very common on this engine), leaking water pumps and faulty inlet manifolds.

The engines themselves are good providing its been well serviced and hasn't had timing chain issues.

Is the car manual or DSG? If DSG then it should have had 2 or 3 transmission services by this age and kilometres. Make sure this is documented in the service history.

Have you got a link to the car you are looking at?

I would also recommend paying $200-300 for a thorough mechanical check of the car by a VW/Euro car specialist (not the VW dealership). Which city are you in so we can recommend some places for mechanical inspections.
