Welcome back mate. Do you still have a Cupra?

  3. Sold it and bought a Peugeot 205 Gti ended up selling that as well. I miss the quality of Volkswagen to be honest

I've recently made the jump from Mk1s to a Mk3 Vr6. It's fun man, I love my VR! But, beware, Mk3s have their.... Problematic reputations for a reason! They are tempremental to say the least!

  5. Can you give me some idea what some common problems would be?

Electrics, particularly Windows. 12v supposedly burn a lot of oil. Honestly, they are just generally tempremental. I'd advise you to have a daily

  8. Yeah thanks.....It would be my second car...
I drive a hiace daily I'm an electrician. I new of the electrics being a bit sus I can deal with that. I enjoy working on cars anyway.

Mk3s and VR6s in particular also can have issues with leaking heater cores which are a lot of work to replace (I understand that it is a full day's work to remove almost the entire dash to get at the heater core).

Luckily, I have never had to do it in my 19 years of Mk3 ownership. My Mk3 CL has been very reliable but then it is missing some of the more troublesome electrics like power windows. Also, the 1.8l is not shoehorned into the enginebay like the 2.8l VR6 engine is.

  10. Yeah I'm really thinking about it now. I'm wondering if a Mk 4 Gti might be worth looking into. The Mk 4 shape doesn't really do it for me though.....could grow on me
