    97V2-Earth replacement ......longer earth strap from gearbox to body. Ground Cable Part No. VW5N0971250R info by aussietig

    Please post recalls and faults for Tiguan in this thread.
    I will put them in order and delete your post, if there would be useful discussion, it would be put in a separate thread or already existing thread.

    US Tiguan TSB's up to 2009

    You can also re-read this thread since it was (and it is frequently) updated in the past with a new info.

    Rear brake pads are now available from BENDIX the p/n DB1865 GCT

    http://bendix.com.au/catalogue?manuf...&oepart=&part=

    I use Bendix GCT on my T5 at the front and they're good very low or no dust and it looks like they will last much longer than the OEM pads.

    I hope they will make front pads for Tiguan available soon. I don't like that dust on the wheels.

    edit: ATE has now the ceramic brake pads available and I have fitted them on both our Tiguans, front and rear and am happy with them, no black wheels anymore, the wheels are easy to clean now.

    I'm unsure if it's actually a recall as such but when I recently had my 1000km/1mth inspection mention was made that they have ordered a longer earth strap (if I recall correctly gearbox to body) for later fitting and the paperwork shows;

    Resurrecting this old thread!

    Definitely a recall, given I've got a silver recall label stuck on the inside of my driver's door.

    Basically a new replacement Ground Cable fitted (Part No. VW5N0971250R)

    Mine was done as part of my 15,000km service.

    Just checking on this... how many litres of engine oil is required to do a oil change for the Tiguan TDI? thinking of either the Motul Specific 5W30 or the Liqui Moly TopTec 5W30 (both VW 507.0 approved oils) for my next engine oil change. Thanks.
