I have it on my Tig. If I had my time again I'd pick other options over the DCC. That said it still a good option.
Hello Everyone,
I plan on purchasing a new VW Tiguan soon but I wish to know your opinions and thoughts on the ACC option, do you recommend/don't recommend it?
Why? Why not?
Thank You!

how do u know if u have ACC?
It is true that there are other posts on ACC (or DACC if you prefer) but they are overwhelmingly on the Golf. There is a thread on ACC for Tiguan but it is related to a current buyer with 18" tyres debating the merits of the option. It is very irritating for a prospective purchaser to go in intending to buy a new car, looking at all of these VW options and NOT being able to get any idea of the worth of the option and have a salesperson expecting you to tick a box that means 1000's of dollars added to your purchase but with no means of testing the option yourself. So, I understand your plight wb47in the most practical way. I have a relatively new Tiguan with a range of options but could not get a demo car with sunroof, ACC, GPS screen or park assist, so I didn't option them. I have leather, BiXenons (best choice you can make as a standalone accessory) etc.
On the topic ACC I find the ride of the Tiguan FIRM, even TAUT, which might be seen as a good thing but I came from a top end sedan with a relaxed ride on highway driving, so I feel the difference. The Tiguan has a short wheelbase and you feel the poor state of our highways here in Qld. I do 200Km on a round trip most days. So, I too want to know if ACC makes a difference to a standard 16" wheel Tiguan on highway driving. I am interested in comfort, and think that 18" wheels are not worth the trade off in comfort let alone cost of replacement tyres, unless you take the car on a track. The car has very good steering and exceptional brakes, it already has good primary safety.
So it would be nice to hear from someone who has a standard 16" Tiguan and can comment on whether it makes a difference to the level of comfort, let alone sportiness when the three options are selected. Tyres can obviously make a difference to driving feedback so for added information I have Pirellis on my car.
Hope someone has something to say on this![]()

I have this option on my Tig and find it makes little to almost no difference.
Can you feel it? Yes, but it doesn't do much. The difference is more noticeable from normal to sport than normal to comfort imho.
Not worth the money for my usage.
I have ACC my Tig 147 also has 18" alloys I think ACC does make a difference. I run it in comfort mode as i prefer a smoother ride. But i have taken the Tig up through the hills and tried it in Sport mode and with the DSG in Sport its a different car, so for me I would select this option again on my next car
Hi Dartiguan,
I agree with everything you say 100%, and could not have put it better myself. Two points I would like to emphasize, as follows:
Amen!
and
Translation: Flintmobile
Perhaps the above is not the "something to say" you were hoping for, but my unscientific opinion is that the car's ride can ONLY be better with adaptive suspension, otherwise why offer it? It surely cannot be harder, as you would then need a 4-point harness to keep you in your seat.
But AFAIK, the Audis have the same option. Perhaps you could get a test ride in one of those?
Possibly Tigman is still youngish so his back is somewhat more impervious to a hard ride than yours or mine.
Just came back to this, and I have to admit jcubed I am over 21![]()
