hi mate,
Easy solution - if you have 3C8 BT and no MFSW - swop it for 9w7 and it will work for you
3c8 only works with Multivan if you have MFSW
VW Bluetooth is always the best choice but you need to make sure you get the correct one for your vehicle.
Why would you buy a premium German car and get a Chery-quality Bluetooth for it? You are better of with a Parrot from **** Smiths
I did the coding only for the OP's himself installed RVC (aftermarket with the video converter) and BT kit. There was no probs to code the RVC, but the VCDS doesn't see the BT kit properly and there are lot of errors related to the 77 address, so it's either dud bt kit, mistakes in wiring or not suitable. It was dark and getting late when we did the job, so I didn't investigate further.
no disrespect guys, but this shows that sometimes its worth to invest a couple of $$ for professional installation and coding and professional local advice prior to your purchase.
This gives you warranty, piece of mind and you can always return the product for exchange or refund.
I'll rip the unit out tonight to get the part number.
What's the part numbers of the older Nokia ones? And do they just do calls or stream music too?
Wrt the professional installation, the BT was plug and play so it's either not compatible or faulty wiring kit. Ironically the RVC was soldered into the power and can high/low wires.
Liquidforce, what is your perspective on next steps for diagnosis?
Miro from MRL will help you diagnose the faults as this is the easiest way I think as he is able to see the module and the wiring.
Although it sounds as easy as plug & play, in reality it hardly ever is. It matters what you connect first and last as this alone can be blocking your BT. Unless you disconnected the battery that is.
The 9w7 Bluetooth which you seem to require does it all - streams music and you can operate calls from rcd510/rns510 as well
I am not sure what you are referring to with regards the RVC but again, if it does not work properly it can be diagnosed, tested and put back together. MRL automotive is your best friend here as diagnosing remotely simply does not work well.
Hope this helps
Ah i see but I take it the 9w7 needs the steering wheel controls?
Miro, when are you free to book in some time to diagnose and test?
9w7 doesn't mate, you can pair it without the MFSW normally
Ok so I've been away for a couple days racing, got taken out resulting in my bike being trashed and me knocked out for a few minutes....
Nevertheless I'm back now though and have taken the unit out. The unit is shown below and the vendor is claiming it's requiring the steering wheel controls to pair it

Yes it does 100 % mate
2 options
1. Keep the BT and buy a MFSW (we can supply and got one in stock cheap)
2. Return the Bluetooth and buy a different one which will suit your Multi. You can buy one here
