Spotted this in one of my favourite GPS websites last night

(links removed until we can be sure it works on our units - otherwise mayhem and pandemonium will ensue)

You will find many improvements, including greater speed during navigation (zoom, rotation phase, etc), greater speed for the "Manual Destination Input Navigation, almost perfect stability of the" entire operation "RNS, better retroilluminaizone management according to the brightness outside. Remember that was modified to work together in C6, C10 and C12.
Very important !!!

I propose check version like bellow because it show us which device realy we have.

so....wtf is C6-C12? Are they the incremental releases of the RNS510 unit itself?

UPDATE: It should work on B,C,D and newer units okay. I had a terrible quality disc burned, the older units with less sensitive laser assemblies are fussy.

Will wait for a few more testers and a custom CD that has the 90/5/5 HDD ratio and VIM included

We will get a custom image of this made with 'corrected' partitioning scheme, VIM and secret menu enabled where applicable.

Also if I get a chance soon I'll write up a guide for the multiple available version and which are appropriate for which unit. The current threads have gotten too long and confusing for first time visitors.
Will post only custom images of 27xx, modified 38xx for A units, and now 4xxx. All should have 90/5/5 partition schemes, VIM and secret menu.

Thanks for the share Steve. There's a 90/5/5 .ISO version going up now. Will update this post once ready.

It's currently installing on my unit. Won't share it till I know it works without error (on mine at least)

Mine's a: 0xC801 / 0006

I've not done VIM yet, as I have an old Kufatec VIM which I can switch off/on via the steering wheel.

I also manually do the hidden menu via VCDS, so I've not done that either. I'll look into an alternate version for those things.

The CRC that was being generated didn't appear to have the right value. I used one that JS sent me and it worked. Not sure why my SetConfig was throwing out a dud. Perhaps I just missed a small detail. I don't know, but I made a .ISO of the disc that I used which worked, so there is no room for error there.

Sounds more like they have changed the crc16 calculation used to protect the files.
