maybe have a look at www.golfmkv.com and search for Jethro41. PM him
Pretty sure he's in T'ville. Drives a red MKV GTI "6OLFI"
Not sure if he has Vagcom...but may know someone who does.

Well, I still haven't had any luck locating VAG-COM in Townsville.
The $100 cable and software I bought from Alpha Bid just seems to be useless. I am requesting a refund.
Will VW do this coding for me? Or will they have a problem with me having installed an RNS-510 aftermarket?
I truly can't see the point in spending $300 to buy genuine VAG-COM cable just to change one minor setting (30 second job).
Sorry to hear you are still having troubles
Recoding with vagcom /vcds cable is very simple.Probably better to look at vwnavi.com under the RNS510 section for the relevant codes.
I do not have the said amp so can't tell you directly which one to change but even then it is straight forward so long as you take your time and remember to save your setting changes before exiting.Lots of thread on this.
If you are still having troubles it may actually be the cheap cable.False economy as they tend to be hit and miss. Should probably buy the real thing from ross-tech then on- sell it if you can't find another member in NT.
Or go to your dealer.Should only be about $60 from memory but this is dealer dependent. Really a 1 minute Job at most (if you have the the location of which codes to change).
