Is there anyone in the Campbelltown / Narellan area that could help me disable the rear camera in VCDS? I don't have one on my Jetta (Park Pilot only) and require the rear camera disabled as it defaults to this when I put the car in reverse.

For anybody wanting to get steering wheel controls working on their 8 button mk5 steering wheel, (I have not tested this), I found this on another forum, it's a custom unit you can wire in to enable certain button functions, it's all in Russian so you can use google translate to see the features in English.

Replaced my RCD510 with an RCD330+ in my amarok recently
Loving it but having problems with my reverse camera. All wired up but getting no signal/image or any kind of response on the display.
Camera is wired up and gets power as the lights on it activate in reverse and headunit VCDS coding has been done.
Can't find anything on the net so hoping someone here has got an aftermarket camera to work with theirs and can let me know how they've wired it up!
Well we know that AA can be added to 187B models as Crngiar is selling them via Aliexpress. It'll just be a matter of flashing them with the firmware in a different way, possibly via the SD Card. Pretty sure it's not a hardware upgrade required. Someone will figure it out soon enough, i hope :)
Quick update and question.
I'm still investigating the CAN gateway current drain stuff. Turns out I did have a faulty battery as well (dropped cell), so now have a new one. An unfortunate coincidence! So kamold you were correct in one respect :)
My habit of leaving the car unlocked in the garage overnight may have been draining the battery since the RCD330 was installed as the car wasn't "sleeping", that combined with investigating things using VCDS with the ignition on killed the battery for good.
Question - Going to install the composite RVC later today into my Mk6 Golf, unsure if I have one which can be switched from an ACC+ on the headunit or if I'll need to tap into the reverse light as a trigger. Speaking of ACC+, where are people taking their + power feed from when installing? I'm unsure if the RCD330 has an ACC+ trigger and power supply, a generic quadlock diagram I found shows ACC+ on the pin below the BAT+ pin, but the diagrams I've seen for the RCD330 don't show this as being active. The most obvious switched ACC+ feed at the rear of the car is the 12V socket, but that's on the other side of the hatch (right side, reverse light is left) and I wouldn't mind keeping things all neat and tidy with as little wiring as possible.
The RCD330 doesn't have a trigger wire. It seems to get it from the car being in reverse via CAN
My power is from the headunit 12V. I got it from the reverse wire and the interference made the RVC unusable
That said, the RVC will always be powered/operating, so if you wanna get power from the reverse light, you'll need to by an inline filter
Yeah, BAT+
No, but if you successfully implement one, show us all how please

My quadlock had 2 power sources, one at BAT+ and the other where ACC+ is/should be. I tapped into the ACC+ power, bingo.
The RCD330 does have a pin there also, although function is undocumented. Could probably assume it's ACC+.
Now to plug it all in and see it works before I hide all the wiring.
