Aftermarket Head Unit Bits and Peices ?

    Hi fellow forumers !

I've done some searching around several audi/vm forums but there's not a complete list of parts I need for an aftermarket double-din headunit i.e. 7" touchscreen rah rah rah...

Currently this is all I have as parts...

-Double Din Fascia Kit + Brackets
    -Steeting control adapter
-Wiring Harness from OEM > Brand Specific Unit
    -Aerial Adapter

Is there anything else I would need? also has anyone come across a DIY install?

    Thx in advanced!

I recently had an Alpine INA 900E installed into my little Polo and those for memory were the add on's that I hadn't initially factored into my budget. I can't think of anything else I needed to buy to get it installed.

Pretty sure it is all there - Fascia kit and mounts, antenna adpater (twin fakra, although the single was fine for me), steering wheel adapter, and OEM harness.
For the DIY install, the hard part is the factory radio removal, once that is out, the fascia kit goes in to replace it, and from there it should be all plug and play.

Oh, and thanks for reminding me!

    You need 3 things:
    1) Facia kit (will include brackets)
    2) Can-interface (plugs into factory stereo plugs and gives you steering wheel control)
    3) Fakra antenna adapter

I have a new Alpine INA-W910R 7inch touchscreen with GPS/BT builtin, and Alpine can also supply the facia kit and can-interface. The antenna adapter is available from numerous suppliers. Picture here

Paul, can you post some pics of your amp/sub install or advise best way to install amp(s) & sub to a Golf R?
