What about this one?
Would that do the trick?
I see that most of them come with an adaptor of some sort but I don't see why this one wouldn't work.

Yup saw that one thanks but that's fore pree 2004 polo. 2004 onwards has the flat plug and 12 pins or something
Anyhoo that xcarlink is the product name not the company and I saw one on ebay for sale.. Granted its $150 over the $80 charged at xcarlink.com.au but as the other posted pointed out seems no one is manning that website :(
But the xcarlink one looks the bomb has both an ipod adaptor and an aux input so you get the best of both worlds :)
I'll be surely buying that one
i have an Eclipse head unit with the ipod link in the glovebox...was told that it wouldn't charge my iphone
so...i tried anyway...once plugged in the phone displays a box saying the think you plugged it into won't work with this device so i just ok'd it and it works just fine!
Not sure if the same would happen with an OEM headunit...go to the dealer with an iphone and try it out

Apple changed their charge voltage from 12v to 5v and the VW adaptor is still in 12v. You iPhone will connect and work but not charge.
Thanks
Well, I ended up getting the xcarlink ipod adaptor with the bluetooth part as well. Looks good cant wait
Just wondering if anyone can point me to guides of how to install. It comes with the keys for removing stereo and from there I'm guessing I would want to install the unit in the glovebox.
I have polo 07 and is there access from behind the stereo to feed the wires to the glovebox or will I need to remove extra dashboard panels?
Also in regards to the bluetooth adaptor Ive seen people will feed the mic part up next to the drivers side sun visor.. How hard is that to feed through?
Thanks
Thinking about getting one of these. Which Xcarlink works for a 2008 polo? As long as I can control the ipod from the ipod interface and not just the playlists through the cd interface then I am happy.
Thinking about getting one of these. Which Xcarlink works for a 2008 polo? The Gamma, Beta or the Delta? I can't see the difference between them. As long as I can control the ipod from the ipod interface and not just the playlists through the cd interface then I am happy. Is there any adaptor that works with the iPhone or is the only option the Charge-convertor?
if yours is the RCD200 stereo as well like my 2007 polo get the delta rcd200/300 etc

The manual says you can use radio to skip songs etc but still have full control on the ipod but if you put it into playlist mode you get no control over the ipod and use the radio to change playlists
The website says it also works with the iphone but I havent tested yet because Im waiting for it to be delivered but I'm guessing you wouldnt want to lose control from the iphone itself because you would still want to take calls etc.. So maybe the only mode the iphone will work is in the track change mode..
Im guessng / hoping it will also charge the iphone too it says its updated for latest gen iphone / ipods
