    3C8 Bluetooth coding

Ive just fitted an RNS510p and 3c8 Bluetooth to my 2011 T5. Activated and enabled both telephone #77 and RNS and Navigation via Ross Tech.

Problem is the RNS says "No User Connection" when I press the phone button, and my phone cant see the device either.

    ANy ideas anyone?

Have you paired it with your phone yet?
I am pretty sure you do this through the steering wheel buttons and MFD display in the dash. (At least that is how I have to do it in my T5).

some times all the control units have to "sleep" after being recoded, make sure you leave the car locked long enough for the RNS to "sleep" you can tell when this has happened as the VW sign appears on the screen again instead of the radio coming straight back on after a short ignition cycle....VDUB...

Thanks guys, ill gve it a try. Does this 3c8 unit have to have mfsw to work. I'm pretty sure I only have a midline dash also so I'm not sure if the phone menu will display. At moment there's no connection at all. But all seems to be coded, no faults showing.

I've reset the rns510, unplugged the 3c8 for a while and plugged back in. No Luck.

"No User Connection" still shows and there's no Bluetooth from the unit, checked with some different phones etc. but there's nothing.

VCDS shows no faults, im stumped.

In our 3 T5,s I can just walk up turn on the van and my phone links instantly with either one of them , but here is the kicker the head units are not german or VW and they work without codes or Ross tech or any other mumbo jumbo .Sorry I can,t offer suggestions as I do not bother keeping factory headunits in our vans because at the price they charge they cannot match an aftermarket one for functions etc . Bluetooth Wi Fi Digital TV reverse Camera AM FM radio Virtual Cd plays all disc types Ipod connection bluetooth music streaming with on screen control and GPS with latest mapping not the oudated stuff VW have sold with some models as I have heard all with touch screen and sterring wheel control . Where did the unit come from is it local or overseas model , and what generation bluetooth is it running as they are up to type 4.0

I'm not directly familiar with 3C8 bluetooth units, but my experience from Polos with 9W7 equivalent BT units which dont have the MFD tacho. VW Phone should just show up for about 30 seconds after starting the car (or acc just before starting the engine).

The pin is generally 0000, this can be set through adaption in 77 telephone in vcds. Checking the coding may have some hints too.

Replaced with a 9w7 which worked straight away.

Although the phone button on the steering wheel doesn't work.

The 9wz (3c module only works with a highline cluster which has convenience function.
