    RVC for Skoda Superb

    Hi,

I just got a Skoda Superb V6 estate. I want to put a RVC in BUT I have a few questions first. I've done some reading (maybe too much) and I'm a little confused.

I'm still tossing up between Lowline and Highline.

With the Lowline option does the camera have to be PAL or NTSC input into the RNS510 or is just RGB?

With the Highline version, how do get those huge connectors into the rear boot door? Again does PAL or NTSC have any bearing on what I need to specify before I buy?

I know I also need coding done. Anyone in Brisbane handy with VSDC.

    Cheers,

    Stu

The highline camera has a control module that allows for the steering wheel angle to produce bending lines on the screen to show where you are going.

The lowline is just a static image.

Both oem styles use an rgbs connector. This is the only video input on the RNS. If you want to use an aftermarket composite video camera you need a composite to RGBS converter box as well. All aftermarket composite cameras are lowline. PAL or NTSC doesn't matter, its the connector type that you need to be concerned with.

Thanks for that. I thought that was the case but over-read the situation. I haven't pulled out my RNS510 but I asume that there is no dedicated Compostie vide input on the back. Only the multi pin connectors of which some are R/G/B.

The connector on the rns is custom. It's a 26 pin multimedia connector that includes rgbs in and out. There are aftermarket solutions that include this connector and composite converter.

If you think the connectors going that rubber molding were bad on your car. Have a look at the highline connector.
