Bitten off more than I can chew

I bought my first car- a '99 SEAT Ibiza Cupra Sport. GTi2.0, 16v, 2 years ago but with a uni student income and zero mechanical know-how, I find that every little problem is costing me top dollar. I am thinking of selling it but don't know what sort of money to expect as the only guide seems to be Redbook. It has done 100,000kms ,Presents well and the interior is very clean, panels all fine (except some clear laquer is lifting from the plastic rear bumper), has a new Sony am/fm compact disc player. Had new shockies, new front 16" radials
Any informed suggestions for a sale price?
    Cheers

Don't give up mate. What problems have you had and who has been fixing it up for you.

Jmac is in Brissy and knows all these cars well. No reason why it should be expensive to run.

Keep it... I was in the same position as you in 2006-2007 with my Golf, zero income and consistient repairs (I bought the car for 3k less than what it was worth on the markte anyway at the time). Cars cost money and theres nothing your going to do about it. The best you can do now is keep this fantastic car and minimise your expenses via this forum

Your also find that a broken car can only appeal to someone with enough know how to fix it or an enthusiast, otherwise you will sell it for peanuts.

Fix the car up and sort out your budget

    Keep it!!!!!!!!!

As the guys have said above, now that you have found this forum life with the cupra should become easier from here on in. there are plenty of members here willing to help.

I was becoming very frustrated with the support I was getting from my local vw dealership & was looking to replace mine until I broke my dip stick & found help from forum members.

Just ask any question you want, someone here will be able to point you in the right direction. If you can't get help with parts locally the Loon can probably help with post from Sydney.

Seriously, consider keeping what you know is a great little car.

    Update

Thanks for all your replies. I have now contact "the Loon" and organised some parts to be sent to me but most importantly he has directed me to a mechanic with lots of Seat experience who only lives 10kms away...wish I knew about him a few years ago! Will let you know how it all goes but if anyone wants to purchase one of only 52 '99 Cupras ever sold in Australia I am open to offers.

Anzacs Cupra is one of 2 or 3 yellow ones and is tidy as.
He doesnt seem to get on here often, but I reckon Beau could find his number if you are keen.
He`d want $4-5k for it I reckon, but it has 100ks or less on it.
