What standard tyre did you get with new car?

Hi guys - when you got your new roc did you have the same tyre?

In years past i have had new beemers but they always seem to change dealer to dealer.

    Are the tyres standard?

Like most major vehicle manufacturers, VW will have sourced tyres from more than one supplier for most of their models.

    Factory fitments for the Scirocco:

    235/40 R18 95W XL
    Pirelli Cinturato P7

    235/40 R18 95Y XL
    Dunlop SP Sport 01A
    Michelin Pilot Sport PS2
    Pirelli P Zero Rosso

    235/35 R19 91Y XL
    Pirelli P Zero
    Continental Sport Contact 3
    Bridgestone Potenza RE050A

There is no real way of ensuring you will get a specific make and model of tyre. You will have to make arrangements with your dealer and see if they will let you swap over from another Scirocco, but IMO, it's hardly worth the effort.

Really disappointed with the 19" Bridgestone RE050A's. anyone had any experience with the others?

Yeah agree re the Bridgestones. They're grippy, but noisy. Come replacement time i'll be going for Continental or Kumho.

That would probably depend on you want from a tyre.

Mine rocked up with RE050A's, can't say they were the greatest tyre, only lasted 18000 kms but very good dry grip.

Recently put Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 2's on, very happy with my choice, much quieter, a little softer ride and excellent dry/wet grip.

I'd be looking at the Goodyear F1 too. My previous experience with these on my old Gti was very positive.

Yep, mine arrived with the RE050A's. Pretty loud but seems like good grip.

What price are you getting for the goodyear f1's?

I went through Tire Rack, however you might be able to pick a good deal within Aus
