I've already emailed my local VW dealership and asked to be put on a waiting list and to be notified if any confirmation comes their way. They didn't confirm or deny it, just said they would let me know.

I saw one in Portugal a couple of weeks ago... maaaaaan is it nasty!
Much better looking than the standard Scirocco's.

Let's hope VWA give the masses what they want.

I saw plenty of these around during my Europe travels in the last few months, these things really look awesome in the flesh - even in 'base' mode (Have pics, but need to get my post count up). Glad to hear that they may be bringing the Scirocco R down here, but I still believe they should bring over a watered-down version too, maybe a 1.4 118TSI version that differentiates it a lot from Golf/Eos equivalents.

Thats 45,000 dollars. Which dealer is that? I heard a reliable rumour that VWA are gonna bring em, but only the R.

The price is pretty good, but the ABT bodykit is probably not everybody's favourite. The bottom rear spoiler looks pretty useless to me, but might be handy to put your drinks or butter some bread on during a roadtrip

yeah but this should be the 'sport' version I guess, starting at 22.500 Euros. If you ad the ABT-bodykit, wheels and exhaust it probably will cost you 33.000Euros. If I will be in the position to but a new scirocco, it definitely will be the 'R'

so...in maybe 12 months we will get a car about due for a mid-life facelift.

And if you don't pre-order it you will probably have to wait 8 -12 mths for them to build it due to the usual backlogs.

I also saw a few of these in the UK & Ireland last year and they really are horny looking motors. Oh yeah baby, when you see one in the flesh you'll want one.
