    HELP with running temperature please

My Scirocco gets up 90oC then fluctuates between 90 and 105. The fans allways start when the car is switched off. Its reasonably cool up here in Cairns at the moment but I'm concerned for summer. My golf gti gets to 90oC and stays there no matter what . Do all Sciroccos do this or do I have a problem ?? thx guys.

Are you talking about oil temp or water/coolant temp?

You should have it scanned. If the aircon isnt on, the fans should be off most of the time. There's a secondary temp sensor and when that fails it will run the fans all the time.

Water temp should not move (on the gauge on the dash) from 90c. You may have a thermostat that is blocked closed/semi closed, a water pump thats failing or (best case scenario) your water temp sensor is faulty.

The water pump should have been replaced when the timing belt service was done. Have you had that done?

A non contact thermometer can be handy here, check the temp of the top and bottom radiator hoses and see if you have a drop in temp.
Also cranking the heater temp in cabin, if the temp drops, you have a bad thermostat or clogged Rad.
