Red face Fuel pump for VR6

    Hi all

My fuel pump for my VR6 (1994) is faulty. Any suggestions for a replacement?
I would rather not go to a dealership...

    Thanks in advance...

If you want a second hand one, I am sure someone on here might help you out.

I got a second hand one about 3 years ago from someone on here, still works fine

How quick do you need it??

Brand New pump is US$197.35 + shipping. Also if you located in Sydney, Golf Houso is lo0oking at a group buy (well ordering a bunch of stuff to save on combined shipping) in the next few weeks:

I've just got stuff from them, highyl recommended.

    Thanks for the response guys.

I use my car for work so I would prefer to get one locally ASAP.

Are there any good VW parts shops in Sydney or Melbourne you could recommend?

Sounds great. I could wait a few days.
I'll call the local VW dealership Monday and see what they retail for.

    I'm guessing somewhere between $400 - $500...

I probably order them from OS... I'll update this post when I know...

I suppose it's really going to come down to the delivery costs since :
    US$197.35 = AU$221.45 + shipping.
For reference I ordered the following and shipping was US $128.30, i'd have to guess yours would be less:

    Thanks... I'll keep you posted.

The part that failed is deep inside the housing. It a small electric pump. It works but sometimes you have to bump it to get it to run.

Would be great if you could buy just that part from VDO but...

    Anyway... Thanks again.

Picked up a new fuel pump from Euro Parts in Adelaide today... $300...

Just finished fitting it.. All good.

I also got a price from the local dealership ...$920... For the same VDO item.
    Can you believe that?
