VW Golf Cabrio Sun Visors with lights

    Hi all,

    I have a Mk3 / Mk4 Golf Cabrio (1999 model).

Just got some sun visors from the US model of the same car, difference being they have little lights in them when you open the cover (handy for women).

Has anyone ever done this mod? Would be interested if anyone knows if there would be any hassles wiring them in to the main interior light. Wouldn't think the visor lights would draw much current, but interested to hear from anyone.

    Cheers and enjoying the forums.

haven't done the mod but have an 03 beetle cabrio that has these lights in the visors.
doubt it would be an issue connecting them to the main interior light power supply. as you say... extra current draw would be minimal.

I had the factory ones on my 3 door GTI in the Middle East....and what a pain they were...make sure all the clips that hold it together are secure, as I replaced one of mine, only to find that my ebay purchase were also tired and broke straight away. The problem is that if the mirror cover holding-clips break, the sunvisor light stays on. My cars' previous owner couldn't work out why he was replacing batteries so often...
