this car was at the nats last year. Awesome piece of kit.
Shame you dont have any pics of the engine bay. There was some interesting stuff going on in there from memory
Hi guys,
I was lucky enough to be able to take a few shots of a historic Golf Rally car. It was number 17 of only 20 made by Volkswagen Motorsport and came out of the Hanover factory in Germany. This particular car won the Austrian Rally Championship in the late 90s and is currently owned by Stephen Muller.
I believe he intends to race it at the Super Sprint at Wakefield Park this Saturday. Should be interesting.

Is that Simon Evans' old car? No engine shots!!!![]()
2008 VRS Wagon. Yellow, very yellow!
Forever blowing bubbles.
I'll get some engine shots in the next couple of days. Not today as Steve Muller was not there at the time. Didn't want to push the friendship if you know what I mean. Turns out he is more the happy so won't be a problem.
Not sure of the exact history. Will get Steve to write it all down.
All the best
Ash
Steve is running it a Wakefield this saturday. I have donated 2 new Advans that noone wanted to buy off me!!!
The sound of this thing is amazing!!!
Par 6 Golf GTI. Coilovers, BBS CH Wheels, APR'd
Caddy van 05/07 (colourcoded) (BRIGHT! orange!) coilovers, Konis 18in. wheels, Oettinger tuned
That's good to hear. I'm taking a new Sony in-car HD camera system to do some in-car race cam shots and I also have a professional HD camera to shoot exteriors. Hopefully will come back with some good material![]()
Remember this from the '08 Nats. Got a chance to help push it into place!
I was doing a control at a rally with my old man one time Steve was running this. Sounds amazing ripping through the bush
It is putting out crazy power...
76 MkI 3 door - daily drive/project - 1.8 5speed
76 MkI 3 door swallowtail - 16v track car
76 MkI 3 door "long term" project
What engine does it use? 2.0 16V I assume?
