    Pulling badges off

    Hey all.

I got the "VR6" off the front.
Today I want to pull the fornt and rear VW and also the "Golf/VR6" off the rear.

I don't have tools (the tools go with the old boy to work) to pull the front and rear emblems off. Is there an easy method?

Also, when pulling the golf/VR6 off the back, i went to my sisters to get her hair dryer, and also bought some turps. Will the turps be good enough to get the residue off?

    Ta.

Fishing line and turps usually gets the stuck on badges off. Heat helps soften the adhesive too.

Ray made a post on here a while back about getting the 'golf' bit off (where your golf VR6 bit is) and his worked a treat. Can't quite remember how he did it but he also did my rear VW badge for me....he just heated it up and carefully pried it off with a taped-up flathead

You can do the rear VW the same way as the model badge.
heat up the badge with a hair dryer enough for the silicon/glue to turn gooey and then pry it off with a taped up flathead screwdriver.

the front VW badge clips into the grill so you just take the front grill of and poke the cadge out from the back.

    hope that helps.

You mean the VW badge on the grille? It'll be easier to take the grille off first so you gain easy access to the tabs that hold the VW badge.
