I dunno about the spacer under the bearing.
But otherwise should have a flat looking nut to hold the bush/bearing to the coil. Then you have a normal but to hold the whole assembly to the strut tower/body

    Thanks Dylan.
I Found a flat looking nut in the parts from ECS have added that in
Without the spacer the nut runs out of thread and the bearing and the plate that sits above the spring are all loose.

With the spacer it’s all tight, the top plate all held in place and as I tighten the nut I get some compression in the spring
Feels like that’s right now I just don’t know how far to tighten it

    Very good.
I had the torque settings on a piece of paper that came with my refresh kit. Otherwise I can pull the Bentley manual out and have a look

In the past I've just done it as tight as possible by hand as I'm normally fighting it with inadequate tools

Awesome and thanks. I have a Bentley manual so will see what I can find.

Messed about with rears too, couple of shots below, seems more straight forward.

Then all the other bits from ecs kit

I also ordered a strut tool from a local tool supplier, 21mm version should arrive tomorrow.
Hoping my 7mm Allen key is long enough.

The 21mm strut socket arrived today from ozwidetools. Fair bit cheaper than ordering from the States let’s see how it holds up.
It’s 1/2 inch drive so fits all my tools hoping it will be ok

    Finally got the coilovers in

Have had a few distractions, other things to take care of over the last few months but finally got some time over the last 2 days to get the coilovers fitted to the car. Was easier than i thought, did buy some stands, a trolley jack and an impact wrench so had no excuses and wanted to make sure I didn't drop the car or do anything silly. So far so good, lets see how they go. Some photos below on the outcome as well as few steps. As far as driving goes its a harsher ride however it feels very solid, cornering so much better. Next step is to get a wheel alignment done.

Here is the before shot with very high ride height

And here is the new look with the coilovers installed

And a couple of progress shots from the day, didn't take a lot was trying to stay focused, was a bit hot outside

    Thanks
I got a wheel alignment done yesterday and that’s made a big difference the the ride. Will do a bit more driving on the weekend.

Car was off the road for a while and COVID lockdowns in Victoria slowed down any fixes. They have now all been fixed. Had to replace water pump, battery and then got a full service. Hoping to start driving again a bit more, getting wheel alignment next week.
