I've noticed a humming from the front of my car when I make speed , it's starts around 60kph then gets noticeable around 80-90kph. going to guess wheel bearings , but what else could be a possible cause.
100@2k feels more like 4k and it's very distracting.
What's stock tyre specs for a GL? Places like Jax say 185/60R14s, If i'm gonna buy some new rubber, Can I go for like 185/45/R14's without any consequences or will it bring too much trouble?
Cheers
That's a lot smaller. I wouldn't suggest doing it; your speedo will read a lot faster (approx by 10%; so when the speedo reads 100kph, you're actually doing 90kph) but the biggest difference is in the ride height - you'll be approx 2" lower than before. The car will be low but you'll have huge wheel gap in the arches; looks great if it's a juiced '64 Impala but not a hatchback.
Whatever tyres/wheels you get, make sure you stick with the standard rolling diameter. If you want low-profile tyres, perhaps look at 16" wheels or even 17".

I knew there was something off, I had these other mags on that were on the parts car, they are 195/45/R15's and I definitely felt the speedo difference. Gonna chuck the stockies back on and I've got coilovers so I'll adjust the height so it's not Impala style
Anything can work. Just wind the coils down
Anyone know where I can pick up a new brake light switch? Or repair mine? eBay ones are ~$50 posted and I'll have to wait.
I only have brake lights 50% of the time, not good, cheers.

Does anyone know of a good independent Volkswagen servicing place located in Melbourne, Victoria.
I have found a few flaws in my mk3 Cabriolet which I wouldn't mind fixing :)
