    Fuel filter mounting clamps

    Hey guys,

I would post a picture if I could (posting off my phone as the Internet at my new place isn't up until next week). I serviced the mk3 today and did the fuel filter while I was at it and came across some slightly annoying clips to remove the mounting bracket. long story short I bolted it back on without them and it seems completely fine, just double checking they aren't essential? Naturally they should be there for a reason but I couldn't figure out how they could make a substantial difference if any. They do have a small spacer as well which led me to believe it needs to be spaced from the body for some reason? But I don't know why. The filter is securely held down and it doesn't affect any clearances, movement or the input/output fuel lines.

    Thanks guys,
    Beau
