Well, the car scarcely runs for a week before hitting me with another problem, and they're mainly electrical, like I guess I knew they would be.
Yesterday, I was driving at 30 mph and touching the brakes lightly in front of a roundabout. To my surprise, the ABS kicked in, even though the weather was as hot as it gets here in Norway, and the asphalt dry. The brakes otherwise worked normally, though. ABS-lamp did not light up, however, it did on the next trip, that same evening, going on and off about four times during a fifteen minutes trip, never staying on for more than a few seconds. Then, today, the ABS started going on its own again, yet no indication from the lamp.
I will be doing an OBD-diagnostic later today. I'm guessing the ABS-circuitry is somehow faulty. Where you guys think I should start looking?
Hi there. Just check the abs sensors on each disk brake is clean. If they get too dirty or too much brake dust builds up on them they will start to miss read and not work. Its easy to check, just need a Allen key to remove the bolt holding each one in. Take them off, clean them and put back and see if that works. Good luck.
