Starting car up after 3 months, anything special to do?
'ey guys.
As some of you may know, 2 and a bit months ago I cracked my oil pump and sump pretty bad and so took the car off the road for a while until I could afford new bits (finally moved into a real job
)
Now in hindsight it probably wasnt very clever, but a lot of this time I didnt have the sump on or anything protecting the engine from getting dust or anything in there... I really dont want to cuase any excessive wear on the engine if its easily advoidable
Is there a way I can see if things need to be cleaned, and if so, how would I do it? or am i worrying about nothing...
Also do I have to prime the new pump or anything? I think I read if you unplug the coil pack and crank it a few times thatll do it, but im not too sure.
Is there anything else I should look out for after having it sitting in the garage for such a long (well its not that long really, but to me it feels like a long time haha) time?
Thanks in advance.
Oh how I cannot wait to hear the purr of a vr6 again....
