nice work. best mod imo
Walking through Golf Loon's (Camden GTI) workshop I spotted a set of extractors.
"What are these off"
"VR6"
"I'll take them "
Also fitted an enclosed pod filter with a Cold Air Intake.
The extractors came off a VR6 which was getting registered in NSW from WA so he had to take them off.
Not 100% sure of the brand but having fitted many other extractors to cars I knew these were made well and would be an improvement over the standard ones.
Did it make a difference?
The car is very eager to rev in first gear meaning I have to change sooner into second and once into second it pulls swiftly through the rev range with much improved acceleration.
Out on the highway there's no need to go down a gear to pull up a hill and going down from 5th to 3rd makes overtaking a breeze.
Picked up an extra 50kms per tank which was a surprise, but I think because the car requires less throttle input it has improved the fuel economy.
Big thanks to Matt for the fitting of the extractors and CAI as I'm a lazy bugger lol.

CAI is on special in Campbelltown Autobarn as they have just opened a new shop. $160 on the box I got it for $150. I rang other Autobarns and they quoted $300-$270?? I actually bought the same one for my Scirocco at Bankstown Autobarn. They told me $200 on the phone and sold it to me for $160 when I got there. Weird pricing structure they have.
Not a bad kit though, its the bigger one of the "Drift" brand ones they sell. I reckon its a pretty good copy of a CMA one which is $500. Comes with mounting bracket and intake hose with trumpet.

Hey Matt just wondering if you know where i can source some extractors for my seat GTI im in brisbane but i really want some so anywhere would be good.Any leads like manufacturers and rough prices would be extremely helpful. Thanks alot.
And by the sounds of it, the extractors for the VR6 sound alright depending on price too! Anyone know where I could get a decent set of extractors for a good price? If not, what's the general price range of VR extractors?
