    Drivers door not locking/unlocking

    Hi all,

Hoping someone might be able to help.

I have looked for other posts and unable to find anything.

The problem is the drivers door will not lock or unlock with the key. The passengers door works fine.
I have a feeling it's the door actuator.

Has anyone experienced this and have any suggestions ?

    Thanks in advance

If it feels as though your key is just not doing anything, your lock barrel could have broken... or, the air pump could have become unplugged and is therefore not activating that particular door. There are a few different things it could be.

Can you get the door to unlock when you use the key on the passenger side? If you can, then the air is pumping fine so I'd put my money on the lock barrel.

The best thing to do would be to take the handle out (one torx screw at the back of it on the inside of the door, then you slide the door handle forward, put the key in, turn the key 90 degrees left or right and pull the back of the door handle out) and have a quick look at the locking part to see if you can see any obvious damage. you put it in by reversing the above method

    Hope that helps

The key operation feels like normal but nothing is happening.
I'll be giving you a call tomorrow afternoon as I need some parts.

@ Mrk_Mickey: passenger side is normal

Maybe the switches in the locking mechanism have failed. It sounds more like a lack of electrical current than a mechanical issue.

You'll be right get Loon to pull it out and have a geeze. He'll get you another one of whatever's broken.

Visited Golf Loon this morning and as he described it was the lock eccentric.

    All fixed, thanks
