A wheel bearing maybe? One of mine has been making noise and I've been meaning to change it forever, but havent gotten around to it
Hey guys,
2 days ago I'm driving along and amongst the music playing I can hear this weird noise. It kinda sounds like there is an airplane flying above me. Anyway the noise has been constant ever since.
It only happen when I'm actually moving, gears do not affect the noise, neither does rpm. So it's got to be something in the drivetrain. It gets louder the fast I go as well.
Please tell me it's not the diff going. I haven't actually checked anything yet as I haven't been home since the noise started.
Does anyone know what's causing the noise?

I'd be investigating wheels bearings first.
I'm hoping to god it's wheel bearings. Once I get the car home I'll have a check.
I have a dodgy rear wheel bearing that was sounding like take off.
Hope the car is good for Bathurst. If not you can roll with me in the VR!

Yeah Cam, gonna pay Canberra vw centre a visit tomorrow arvo and try and get some wheel bearings.
If it's not good to go looks like I'll be playing photographer haha
If you leave a wheel bearning noisy for too long you'll need to change the hub as well

Yeah I know that. It's not my daily so I won't need it during the week.
Another little thing I've noticed is when turning right, it seems to be a little quieter. the noise doesnt stop altogether but its definitely a little quieter then when driving straight ahead or turning left.
