I've got my camshaft sprocket, crankshaft and distributor rotor lined up where they're supposed to, but I'm having trouble getting the intermediate shaft sprocket to line up with the crankshaft (I took the distributor out and messed up its alignment with the intermediate shaft). Now I'm just wondering, does the intermediate shaft do anything other than turn the distributor? I'm thinking, if I've got the camshaft, crankshaft and distributor rotor aligned, then all should be well and dandy - the intermediate shaft sprocket should just act as a second alignment tool for the distributor?
