What exactly do you do Jmac? I have a feeling you own a mechanic specialising in VWs? Am I right or just stupid hahah.

I'd love to get rid of the springs in the back from the seat by replacing them with leather vr6 seats but that seems like a dream at the moment

I've been trying to look for some easy instructions on how to remove my head unit so I can have a look at the wiring. The sound system isn't so good and I think it might be dud wiring either at the head unit, or the speakers. Its mostly the left hand side speakers that cop out. Any one got any links to help a brother out?

If its aftermarket shove some butter knives down both sides and pull it should slide out.

I tried the knives but it didn't seem to do anything. It didn't budge. Am i meant to jiggle it or hear a clicking noise?

Go to your local stereo dealer and buy some keys. They are like $3 for a set. Just tell them what headunit you have.

Butter knives down the outsides between stereo and cage. Jiggle them while pulling. Hasn't failed me yet!
