Thanks man! Can't wait to get them on, I just got back from my trip to the states so shouldn't be to far away with tyres and setting up.
    Will post pictures up ASAP.

    Looking forward to it!
Gets pretty lonely on this side of the forum, some weeks no posts at all!

That's only because I'm moving to the MK1 side.

Don't worry, my MK2 is going into good hands and there are lots of things planned for it.

Well today is a dark day.. The golf got me to work on my first day back but on the way I think it has pooped it's head.. Was running rather hot, rattling and started to struggle on power. Also the cluster started doing all kinds of weird things with the lights.
I have been in contact with a bloke from the forum about a 2.0L swap and he has everything to do so. I just need someone to assist with doing.
If anyone knows of someone willing to help or a garage that specialises in these cars around brisbane that would be unreal.
Its currently stranded and hopefully teeing up a car trailer to pick up tonight.

That's bad news, hope you get it safely home and off the street.
Does sound like you've got a cracked head.
Weather has been crazy hot too some days.
    Was it leaking coolant?

Was boiling out of the expansion chamber and seems to be cooking itself.. Got the car home safely and it now starts and runs. Don't think she's good to run around in though.

I'm all for the 2.0L conversion, but don't write of the little 1.8 yet.
They're pretty resilient little engines, I've done terrible things to mine without issue.

80 series - The MK2's BIG, Sooty, polar opposite...
