    GTI Sunroof

I nearly drowned today. A temporary fix with gunmetal grey roof and gutter sealant has got me out of trouble.

My question is (and Brian from GTI Imports will shoot me for asking this), but

"How do I go about fitting a permanent glass panel where the sunroof is?"

Point being, car stays reasonably genuine (ie sunroof not closed in) but I have a more reliable solution that also sheds some weight along the way.

If it's just the seals, why not track down a new seal?
Should be some on ebay and possibly Camden GTi might have one.
Vw heritage have them in stock.

Is it a genuine VW sunroof?

If it is I would be keeping it stock.

All that money for just a panel (that any local panelbeater could make), not even a rubber seal to mount it just in case you want to go back to a sunroof.

Replace the seal the sunroof mech is not heavy, mostly aluminium, glass would be just as heavy, and will heat up the interior nicely!!!!!
