    Fitting Recaros to MK2

    Hey all,

I have a pair of Recaro LS fishnets that I'd like to mount into my new MK2, aftermarket unit that was installed into an E30 previously. What are my options regarding fitting these into my car? Finding used factory MK2 Recaro rails from overseas? Aftermarket options? I'm pretty unfamiliar with the watercooled world but surely some of you veterans have tackled this problem before and can give me some advice?

    Thanks in advance!

Mine have custom frames made to fit the MK2 rails and the Recaro bases.

Easy to do but time consuming to get everything cut, drilled and welded.

    Cheers

I'm looking at going the fixed base route then adapting sliders to that. Shouldn't be too hard.

I picked up a Corbeau fix back a little while ago that i'll be throwing in the mk2. Searched for a while trying to find a bracket but it's just a pain. Probably just going to pull the trigger on a Planted brand fixed rail in a couple of weeks, best I found was around $260AUD delivered from memory. The Planted brackets are built for mk2's but universal on top

Before you fork out $260 go and talk to a local engineering shop and ask how much to make a couple of plates.

Even cheaper if you do it yourself. I got some Cabby seats cheap and I've cut the frames. Next step is making a plate to bolt or weld to the frame that also bolts to the Recaros.
