The seller had me interested for 2 weeks with the Jetta, supplying information but just when I was arranging to view suddenly a family member was getting the Jetta,I thought it was a safe sale due to the car sitting for 2 years so unsure why the sale abruptly dropped out. What do you do,whine about it or move on,now on a slim chance another has come up.Bring on the next round of crazy project car buying, yay

The Jetta 2 was a great car,and a global best seller, but never sold new in Oz.

I will be looking at a Jetta this weekend, seller has mentioned a engine miss, this and structural integrity will be my first main attention.Engine miss might be a simple HT lead failure(spark),fuel or possibly blown head gasket.Engine apparently is a 1.8 with a 1.6 head, not sure of any common problems.

Finally have a MK2 Jetta in the driveway,it filthy inside and out,I expect a few hours of scrubbing when I have some spare time. When its cleaned up,won't be a trailer queen, I will post a pic.Preliminary inspection, some bodywork, some rust spots most are easy repairs and beginning the to do list.
