    Sprint Booster Discussion

I installed a sprint booster today and I am extremely happy with the results. I know it just messes with the drive-by-wire but I swear my car has just increased about 50nm in low down torque!

    Oh yeah, good value mod

How on earth is $300something for a couple of resistors/capacitors a good value mod? It doesn't actually make anything faster.
If it was $30, I'd think about it.

compared to spending $2k+....some may find it good value.

I had a sprint booster fitted to my Liberty 3.0R and I was very impressed. But after about three months the car went into limp home mode. The only fix was to remove the sprint booster.

Geez guys take a chill pill! Its exactly like the si drive on the subaru's. They work in pretty much the same way. It has more urgency off the mark, eg the gear engaged quicker so its quicker off the mark and its more sensitive to kickdown. It's awsome. I love it, so for under $300 to affect the driavability of the car in such a +ve way its a good value mod imo!

Ive used them in the past on MBs with good sucess.
It only changes the way the throttle is logged but it sure makes a better spirited driver.

    Enjoy

It's not a chip, so I'm not sure what the $2k is comparing it to.

There is a cheaper product I believe, by Pivot, or was this the one the OP went with?

I didn't say it was a chip. So don't bring that into the argument.

The OP spent <$300 on an item that he has found to improve his experience behind the wheel. The first response questions it's value as a good value mod. Compared to what?

    Sprint Booster A Sucker?

After seeing that there was some off the topic threading from the last post on the Sprint Booster.
I thought I would get back to what was initially a discussion about the Sprint Booster, not calling names.

I just last night placed an order for the Sprint Booster, however just as of today came across this article on The Sprint Booster http://peony888.com/VS/SprintBooster.pdf
by which at the end of the article the conclusion described by the author whom has done some serious testing on the product read:

    Conclusion
The Sprint Booster 'is a simple amplifier that multiplies the accelerator pedal sensor signal, making the accelerator pedal more sensitive. It does not eliminate any significant delay in throttle response, nor does it greatly improve acceleration figures. It does not change the adaptive throttle control programming of electronic throttle control vehicles. It does change pedal “feel”. This change in feel is interpreted by some as improved throttle response, acceleration, and a change in adaptive throttle control programming. Considering what it actually does, it is expensive.'

Now, I am still going to give it a try as I think it may add fun to my drive and addition to my Stage II+ APR Tune.

If I am a sucker so be it, i'll let you know in a couple of weeks when I receive the device from O.S
