Three weeks old...
At the local shopping centre reversing out very slowly as we were next to a pole, Mrs Hawk said "watch the pole" at which point I stopped entirely and looked at the pole which was next to the drivers window (and never going to hit). We were maybe 3 feet out of the parking spot, next thing I hear the parking sensors go off followed immediately by a large thump which shook the whole car. No warning, no beeps getting faster, just beep beep bang!![]()
I looked up to see a car driving back into the car space opposed and down one slot from our parking space. I moved forward about 2 feet back back into the parking space and got out to see what had happened and a women jumped out of her car.
The damage:
So the light is toasted, but the real damage is in that rear panel which is now pushed in and the side panel which has a crinkle in it. What makes it even sadder is the extent of the damage on the car that hit us seems to be limited to the spare wheel on the back, even then...
Close up:
It's now in the hands of the insurance company and has already been to the repair place to kick off the process. As soon as it's approved it can go in, only downside it we are off to Melbourne on Friday so it's going to be bruised for a little longerOnce it goes in it's going to be off the road for a week for repairs
It's only a car, it will get fixed and will hopefully be as good as new... I keep telling myself that, it's not helping, but what do you do?![]()
